RSCC Wire & Cable-EXANE Oil & Gas Segment, unveils its latest Ethernet cable, representative to a family of ruggedized, harsh environment DATACOMM cables. The flexible and ruggedized CAT 6 F/UTP TCB cable, features stranded 23 AWG conductors, an overall foil shield, and tinned-copper marine braid armor between the inner and outer sheaths. The dual purpose marine braid armor serves as mechanical protection for compliance with the hazardous area installation requirements of IEEE Std.45 and API RP-14F, as well as provide an additional layer of EMI protection to the paired core.
EXANE Oil & Gas certified the cables for use in upstream and midstream applications. The thermoset ester-based Mud Resistant jacket provides best possible protection to installations on mud process equipment or harsh environmental areas that prove detrimental to thermoplastic jacketed cables. For safe non-hazardous areas such as quarter’s buildings which require Low-Smoke, Zero-Halogen, the thermoset ZH jacket best fills this requirement.
Both RSCC CAT 6 F/UTP TCB cables completed testing towards UL 2225 Crush & Impact Resistance, UL 1581 / IEEE 383 Vertical Flame Test, UL 1685 FT4 / IEEE 1202 Vertical-Tray Flame Test, IEC 60332-3 CAT A Flame Retardance and ANSI / TIA CAT 6. Certificates for ABS and DNV-GL Type Approvals pending.
