Attleboro, MA - Comtran, a member company of Marmon Electrical and leading provider of specialty cable and system solutions, has expanded its industry-leading UL 2196-listed VITALink® product portfolio with the addition of unshielded Ethernet cables. The cables round out the existing shielded VITALink® Ethernet product offering.
The unshielded cables are available in 18 AWG, 2 through 4 pair constructions. They feature a red non-halogen, flame retardant jacket, with options for other jacket colors and non-black jacket striping available upon request. Installation of the unshielded VITALink® Ethernet cables follows UL FHIT System 40A, which allows for either EMT or IMC conduit and up to 7 cables in a 2-inch conduit. In Canada, installation follows UL FHIT7 System 40A.
With this expanded listing, VITALink® continues to deliver the most comprehensive circuit integrity solutions. The VITALink® Ethernet products are complemented by other 300V solutions, including dual rated CI/CIC cables and CCW armored cables. VITALink® also has 600V MC/RC90 armored cables for commercial and transit applications. All products are UL 2196-listed and are designed to survive for 2 hours in fire conditions to help ensure safe evacuation.
Division President, Joe Barry, is excited about this new approval and the future of the VITALink® brand. “By being able to offer both shielded and unshielded Ethernet cables, we can better support critical circuits for IP applications, including area of refuge VoIP 2-way communication systems. As the VITALink® brand evolves, I am confident this portfolio will continue to lead the industry in innovative UL 2196-listed solutions.”
